UberEats Delivery, Lunch Bag, Conference/Readings

A recent economics book I read discussed the important of maximizing production for the benefit of society. By allocating resources efficiently to maximize production, it allows the prices of all good/services to be kept to a minimum, thereby increasing the overall wealth of a society.

I'm bringing this up because I want to discuss on how I, as a single person can maximize my time and money for the overall benefit of society. Hopefully, by living a disciplined life, others will follow my example later on. Here's some efficiency thoughts

  • Yesterday, I got UberEats delivery and looking over my earlier delivery orders back in Jan/Feb, I actually didn't make appropriate purchases. It was a lot of expensive purchases that wasn't really cost-effective. I'll requesting delivery only when absolutely necessary.
  • My extra bag plan is working, cutting down my food purchases and helping me save money.
  • Today, I went to a marketing conference and it gave me two ideas.
    • Aim to only attend event/conferences where the information presented is worth the time, the money, and cost of transportation.
    • The conference discusses on how the wealthy aims to read one book once a week, as compared to the poor/middle-class who reads a book once a year. This is a nice habit to have.
  • During my trip to the TTC, a bus equipment broke down due to a sudden braking. I quickly identified the break down issue and picked up the equipment to prevent a possible injury to upcoming passengers. I'm quite disappointed no one bothered to do anything.  Classic example of The Bystander Effect.
